When External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently addressed the controversy around Donald Trump\u2019s tariff threats and questions over India\u2019s purchase of Russian oil, his statement was clear and unequivocal: \u201cRussian oil purchases were never discussed with India.\u201d<\/strong> The remark cut through layers of speculation, signaling both India\u2019s confidence in its choices and the limits of American leverage.<\/p>\n
